The batteries are IP66 rated, which means they are designed to be installed inside or outside.
The units will benefit from being under shade, so they don't overheat and aren't exposed to direct sunlight.
In all instances the units must be installed in line with Australian Standards.
What is IP66 rating?
An IP rating is an "Ingress Protection" rating. This is based on a scale for both Solids and Water.

IP66 rated enclosures provide protection against dust (the highest rating) and water.
Note: The test includes the enclosure being subjected to 100 litres per minute of water volume with the pressure of 100 kPa at a distance of 3m for at least 3 minutes!
Safe and compliant installation
Once you pay the deposit, we'll ask you to take some photos of your preferred installation locations. We usually ask for 2x locations, so that we have a few choices.
We may have some follow up questions, just to make sure it will comply with the Australian Standards, and pass the required inspections.
When the installer gets to the site, if the location differs drastically to the photos we've received, they may need to agree a new location with you - or if you require more electrical or civil works, they will discuss the cost with you, before going ahead. Ultimately the installer will provide the best advice on site in accordance with requirements.
