The setup
This set up has 6.6kW of installed capacity of Jinko solar cells which is then DC coupled to a Solis 6kW hybrid inverter and 28.6kWh Yoshopo (CNTE) battery.
What's going on?
The battery is charging from both solar and the grid - to take advantage of an energy plan offering free electricity from 11am to 2pm.
Solar generation covers the home’s usage first, with any excess sent to the battery. Since the battery is set up to draw about 6kW, additional power is supplied by the grid.
The app prioritises self-consumption by default, but users can set custom charge and discharge schedules on top, if required / desired.
The video also demonstrates the app’s features, including usage graphs (home, solar, battery, and grid) and a breakdown of savings. It also highlights battery settings, such as how to set a reserve and the option for personalised charging/discharging schedules.
Installed in April 2025, this system already shows substantial data... and strong savings!
